Cartier Tank Solo 'Large' 2742 / W1018855 + Box
At 10 over 10, we have a fondness for vintage watches, but sometimes we like to make an exception for some newer models that also fit perfectly in our collection. The iconic Cartier Tank Solo watch we have here is made of 18K yellow gold and was produced from 2004 to around 2019. After that, the model was succeeded by the Cartier Tank Must.
The fully 18K yellow gold case of this Cartier Tank Solo Large 2742 is in excellent condition! The dimensions of the case are 27 mm x 35 mm. The watch features the distinctive silver dial, equipped with Roman numerals and dark blue, sword-shaped hands. And of course, the characteristic blue cabochon on the crown is a must. A beautiful piece that embodies all the qualities of a Cartier Tank!
Additionally, this Cartier Tank Solo Large 2742 comes on a black leather strap, featuring an 18K yellow gold Cartier buckle. This makes the watch a stunning piece of jewelry as well. Of course, we provide this classic Cartier Tank watch including the original Cartier box. It is characteristic that the inner cushion and the inside of Cartier boxes from this period tend to wear out a bit faster. This particular piece shows some light signs of aging on the cushion and the inside of the box. We have replaced the white cushion with a new, replacement cushion. Naturally, this Cartier Tank Solo Large comes with a 24-month warranty on the movement from 10 over 10.

Cartier Tank
The Cartier Tank watch is one of the most iconic watches in the history of haute horlogerie. The tank was first introduced in 1917 and quickly became a timeless symbol of style and elegance. To this day, the Cartier Tank remains one of the most popular and successful models from Cartier.
The story behind the Cartier Tank watch begins with Louis Cartier, the founder of Cartier. He was inspired by the tanks used during World War I. The sleek lines and shapes of the tanks piqued his interest, and he decided to translate this into a watch design. In 1917, the first Cartier Tank watch was introduced. The model stood out with its rectangular case with rounded corners, reminiscent of the shape of a tank. The tank featured a simple dial with Roman numerals and blue steel hands. It was a radical design for its time, as most watches then had round cases. The Cartier Tank watch quickly became popular among high society and celebrities, including style icons like Jacqueline Kennedy, Andy Warhol, and Princess Diana. The watch was regarded as a symbol of refinement and class.
