Rolex Oyster Royal Precision 6426 (Circa 1963)
The Rolex Oyster Royal Precision reference 6426 was introduced in the 1950s as an entry-level model within the Rolex collection. The watch has a classic diameter of 34 mm and is equipped with a reliable movement (caliber 1210, later 1225). The focus is on simplicity and reliability: a time-only display without date, housed in a robust, water-resistant Oyster case with plexiglass.
The reference 6426 remained in production for a long time, from around the mid-1950s to the late 1980s. During this period, the model remained largely unchanged, contributing to the timeless and recognizable character of Rolex.
The Rolex Oyster 6426 we have here dates from around the early 1960s. There are several aspects that make it very appealing. We start with the 34 mm case, whose lugs are razor-sharp, allowing all corners and lines to remain perfectly visible. Of course, simplicity is the essence of beauty, and the watch features a steel smooth bezel.
The silver dial has beautifully aged to a beige tone, adding extra warmth to the overall appearance. We should also mention the faceted hour markers, as well as the dauphine hands, which are characteristic of watches from the 1950s and 60s. Furthermore, this Rolex Oyster Royal 6426 is fitted with a folded Jubilee bracelet. It is typical for this type of bracelet to show some stretch, but it still remains in excellent condition.
The reliable manual-wind movement has recently been fully serviced and comes with a 24-month mechanical warranty on the movement.

Rolex Oyster Royal Precision
The Rolex Oyster Royal Precision has its origins in the 1930s when Rolex used the name “Royal” for watches with a central second hand, a modern innovation at the time. The addition of “Precision” was used for models without chronometer certification. This was combined with the Oyster case from 1926, the first waterproof watch case from Rolex with a screw-down crown and screwed case back. Later, “Royal” was no longer a separate line but rather a style designation on the dial.
