Tudor Oyster Prince Day-Date 94613

If this Tudor Oyster Prince Day-Date looks familiar to you, it's because this model is heavily inspired by the iconic Rolex Datejust and Day-Date. In 1946, the Tudor Oyster watches were introduced as manual-winding timepieces. Most of these watches had a steel Oyster case of 34 mm and were available with a wide range of dial variations. In 1952, the 'Oyster Prince' was introduced, where 'Prince' stood for an automatic movement. This model was Tudor's counterpart to the Rolex 'Oyster Perpetual.'

In the early 1980s, reference 94613 was introduced, which remained in production until the early 2000s. This reference is particularly known for its refined size of 36 mm and the additional function of both a date and day indication. The Tudor Oyster Prince Day-Date 94613 is a beautiful combination of the two most famous Rolex models, the Datejust and the Day-Date, but in a subtler size. When the Tudor brand was launched in 1946, it was intended that the quality of these watches would be equal to that of Rolex. To achieve this goal, Tudor watches were equipped with Rolex cases, crowns, and, until 1971, even Rolex bracelets until the late 1990s.

This beautiful vintage Tudor Day-Date 94613 from 1988/1989 is in excellent condition, with a razor-sharp 36 mm case and an 18K yellow gold fluted bezel, both of which appear unpolished. At 10 over 10, we place great value on quality and refined taste, which is why we are immensely pleased with this vintage watch. The champagne-colored dial, combined with the period-correct comfortable and tight Tudor folded Jubilee band, gives the watch a true classic vintage look. The tritium on the hour markers and hands is still intact and has beautifully aged to a beige hue. Thanks to the quick-set function, which allows the day and date to be manually adjusted, this vintage Tudor Day-Date is also very user-friendly. The reliable ETA 2834-1 movement has been serviced, ensuring that this watch will last for years to come. Additionally, this Tudor Day-Date 94613 comes with a one-year warranty from 10 over 10.

Tudor

Rolex was founded in 1905 by the famous German businessman Hans Wilsdorf. In 1926, Rolex introduced its first waterproof watch, the iconic Oyster. In that same year, founder Hans Wilsdorf had another goal in mind: he wanted to create a watch brand that was accessible to more people, but with the same quality and reliability as Rolex. Wilsdorf commissioned the dealer Philippe Hüther in Geneva to create the Tudor brand. While Rolex used high-quality in-house movements, Tudor had its movements produced elsewhere and utilized ETA movements. This allowed Tudor to maintain its affordability. A significant part of Tudor's success in its early years was due to the fact that it was allowed to use Rolex's waterproof Oyster case, giving buyers access to the legendary durability of Rolex, but at a more affordable price point.
