Omega Constellation 14902 'Pie-Pan Dog Leg & BOR Bracelet' (1962)

The Omega Constellation is perhaps one of the most refined models in the collection, with a wide variety of executions. This model was launched by Omega in 1952. The name refers to a constellation that moves consistently and predictably. A beautiful symbol of the reliability of the timepieces in this series!

Omega broke every precision record at the Geneva Observatory, creating a strong bond with astronomy. This connection is also reflected in the logo of the Constellation series: an image of the Geneva Observatory, surrounded by eight stars symbolizing Omega's greatest chronometric achievements. This iconic logo is often found on the back of the case, while a single star adorns the dial.

The fully original vintage Omega Constellation 14902 that we have here dates from around 1962. The watch is made of steel and features a beautiful silver Pie-Pan dial, which creates a nice depth when viewed from different angles. The dial shows a slight patina, but the light speckles characteristic of this type of dial catch the light from different angles and are certainly not perceived as disturbing. The so-called baton hour markers are filled with onyx, a natural black gemstone known for its smooth and shiny finish. This combination makes this Omega Constellation watch a real eye-catcher! The plexiglass is original and bears the Omega engraving in the center. The Omega crown is also original and correct for the period of the watch. The reliable Omega 561 caliber has undergone a complete service.

What also makes us very happy is the steel case with the iconic 'dog leg' lugs, both of which are razor-sharp and still in unpolished condition. Additionally, this vintage Omega Constellation 14902 is equipped with a steel Omega 1037 BOR (beads of rice) bracelet, which is still in perfect condition and shows little to no stretch for its age.

This beautiful vintage Omega Constellation Pie-Pan Dog Leg 14902 with steel BOR bracelet comes with a 1-year mechanical warranty from 10 over 10.

Omega

La Generale Watch Co., the parent company of Omega, was founded in 1848 in the Swiss La Chaux de Fonds by 23-year-old Louis Brandt, who was assembling watches. In 1866, Louis Brandt passed away, and the company was continued by his two sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar, who decided to have the assembly done at a location. The brothers made enormous strides forward, and in 1894, they launched a new caliber: the famous 19-line caliber. The caliber was so precise and successful that the brothers decided to change their company name to 'Omega Watch Co.' in 1903. Since 1998, Omega has been owned by the Swatch Group under the name Omega SA.
