Omega Speedmaster Professional 145.022 (1990)

The Omega Speedmaster was introduced in 1957. This model was used as a tool watch in the racing world. For example, the Speedmaster has a chronograph function. The Speedmaster is known for the model used by NASA as the first watch on the moon. NASA wanted to provide astronauts with a durable timepiece and Omega passed all the rigorous tests conducted between 1964 and 1965. Omega was officially certified by NASA and the entire crew of the Apollo-11 wore a Speedmaster. Since then, the Speedmaster Professional has been Omega's most iconic watch.

This vintage Omega Speedmaster 145.022 with 'long S and long R' dial dates from the year 1990/1991 and remains the most iconic model that should not be missing from any watch lover's collection. With its sharp case, the watch is in great condition. The tritium on the hands and the dial which is still fully intact show a beautiful orange discolouration. The 1450 bracelet shows a slight stretch, but is still in good condition. The watch has been fully checked by our watchmaker and comes with a 1-year mechanical warranty from 10 over 10.

Omega

La Generale Watch Company, Omega's parent company, was founded in 1848 in the Swiss city La Chaux de Fonds by 23-year-old Louis Brandt. In 1866, Brandt passed away, leaving his company in the hands of his two sons Louis-Paul and Cesar. The two brothers brought many fresh, innovative ideas to the company, which led to the development of a new caliber in 1894: the famous 19-lignecaliber. This caliber was so precise, and subsequently, succesful, that the brothers decided to change their company name in 1903; the year "Omega Watch Co." was born. Since 1998, Omega is owned by the Swatch Group, under the name Omega SA.
