Rolex Datejust 1601
In the 60s and 70s the 4-digit 16XX series were produced. This Datejust 1601 dates back to 1975 and has a silver pie-pan dial which was popular in the 60s and 70s. The pie-pan was also widely used by Omega for the Constellation models. This Rolex Datejust 1601 is fitted with a solid Jubilee strap which is from a slightly later year. The strap shows a minimal stretch for its age. The watch has been fully checked by our watchmaker and comes with a 12-month warranty by 10 over 10. This vintage Datejust 1601 is the everyday classic!
Rolex Datejust
In the year 1945, the first Datejust was introduced in honor of Rolex's 40th anniversary under the reference 4467. This was the first self-winding watch with a waterproof case that also indicated the date and automatically jumped after midnight. The Datejust was fitted with the serrated bezel and the well-known Jubilee strap that was specially designed for the Datejust. The date was indicated at the 3 o'clock position. 10 years later in 1955, the date window was fitted with a cyclop lens that enlarged the date by up to 2.5 times.
Most of Rolex's iconic models were produced for use as "tool watches". However, the Datejust had no specific purpose. This model had to become a classic, reliable and everyday watch that was suitable for every occasion and everyday life. In my opinion, this has certainly worked!
