Rolex Datejust 16233 "Pyramid Dial" (1993)

There is something special about collecting vintage Rolex watches. There are countless details that distinguish one piece from another, from unique case materials and shapes to the refined aesthetics of the dial. These are the most prominent and noticeable characteristics. You will also immediately notice that this (neo)vintage Rolex Datejust 16233 is not equipped with a regular dial, but with the relatively rare Pyramid dial, inlaid with golden Roman hour markers. This name refers to the structure in the cream-colored dial, which resembles small pyramids. A true eye-catcher!

Along with the introduction of the Datejust, the iconic five-piece Jubilee bracelet was also launched. It first appeared in solid gold, followed by the bicolor variant. At that time, buyers could choose between a Jubilee or an Oyster bracelet, although the latter is less common with Datejust 16233 models. This watch is a perfect example of how an elegant vintage Datejust should look. The combination of the steel case, the 18K yellow gold bezel, the cream-colored Pyramid dial, and the gold steel Jubilee bracelet creates an iconic and elegant appearance.

This beautiful (neo)vintage Rolex Datejust 16233 with Pyramid dial from 1993/1994 is truly in exceptional condition. The watch is almost like new and can even be considered near NOS (New Old Stock), something we rarely encounter with watches of this age! The 36 mm steel case, along with the 18K yellow gold fluted bezel, is still razor-sharp and appears unpolished. The original green Rolex 16233 factory sticker is still present on the case back. The Jubilee bracelet shows no stretch and is still in perfect condition. The clasp also feels tight! The reliable 3135 movement has undergone a full service. This special vintage Rolex Datejust 16233 with Pyramid dial comes with its original hangtags and 1 year warranty from 10 over 10.

Note: Because we provide all our Rolex watches with a movement check and, if necessary, a service, it may take some time before they are available. As a result, these watches may remain on 'available soon' for a longer period.

Rolex Datejust

In 1945, the first Datejust was introduced to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Rolex under reference 4467. This was the first self-winding watch with a waterproof case that also indicated the date and automatically changed after midnight. The Datejust was equipped with a fluted bezel and the famous Jubilee bracelet that was specially designed for the Datejust. The date was displayed at the 3 o'clock position. 10 years later, in 1955, the date window was equipped with a cyclops lens that magnified the date by up to 2.5 times.

Most iconic models of Rolex were produced to be used as tool watches. However, the Datejust had no specific purposes. This model was meant to be a classic, reliable, and everyday watch suitable for any occasion in daily life.
