The 36 mm vintage Rolex Day-Date 18038 we present here dates from 1981. The watch features a classic champagne-colored dial with a Roman minute track around it. The tritium on the dial and hands has slightly discolored to a warm light beige hue. Considering the age of this watch, now 44 years old, it is certainly still in a nice overall condition!

The 18K yellow gold 36 mm case is thick and sharp, and is in excellent condition. The 18K yellow gold fluted bezel has been polished in the past, but still retains a beautiful appearance and provides a nice sparkle. The case back shows some light signs of use, but these are not distracting.

The reliable Rolex 3055 movement has undergone a full professional service in 2023. And as if that weren't enough, this beautiful old-school Day-Date comes with the iconic 18K yellow gold President bracelet, which is in very good condition, virtually without stretch. The bracelet is securely attached to the case with two original gold Rolex pushpins.

The first Rolex Day-Date, also known as the 'President', was introduced in 1956. To this day, it has remained the iconic status watch of Rolex. When Rolex launched the Day-Date, it was the first wristwatch to display both the full day of the week at the 12 o'clock position and the date at the 3 o'clock position.
