Rolex Day-Date 18038 Champagne Diamond Dial

The Rolex Day-Date reference 1803 was replaced in the year 1978 by the reference 18038. The watch was provided by Rolex with a number of improvements compared to its predecessor. The Day-Date 18038 was provided with sapphire crystal instead of plexiglas, and the quick-set date function makes the watch more user-friendly. Underneath the sharp and thick 36 mm case made of 18K yellow gold we find the 3055 calibre, which has recently been fully serviced by our watchmaker. Until today, the Day-Date represents style, luxury and prestige. This vintage Day-Date dates back to the year 1979 and is equipped with a beautiful and elegant champagne diamond dial. The golden case in combination with the olive green suede strap, which is fitted with an original Rolex buckle, makes this Rolex a beautiful mix between classic and modern.

Rolex Day-Date

The first Day-Date, also referred to as "President", was introduced in the year 1956. To this day, it remains as the signature status watch by Rolex. When Rolex first released the Day-Date, it was the first watch to both feature the day of the week on the 12-hour position, as well as the date on the 3-hour position. Another characteristic of the Day-Date is the famous President-bracelet which appeared on the market in 1966. This bracelet is almost as famous as the watch itself. The President-bracelet would unofficially become known as the "President" when a Day-Date was offered to American president Dwight Eisenhower by Rolex.
