Tudor BB58

Tudor's very first diving watch, the Oyster Prince Submariner was introduced in 1954 under the reference 7922. This was exactly one year after Rolex introduced the 6204 Submariner. These two watches had many features in common such as the bezel, the dial without date, a case with a small crown and without crown guards. More than half a century later, the first Herritage Black-Bay model from Tudor was introduced at Baselworld 2012.

This Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight was introduced at Baselworld in 2018. This new watch dates back to its special past. Its diameter of 39 mm and the height of 11.9 mm, this BB58 is 2 mm smaller and 3 mm thinner than the typical Herritage Black Bay models. In contrast, the brand new MT5402 Tudor caliber, specially designed for this watch, is an important part. To reduce the size of the BB58, Tudor was unable to use its current caliber. The new caliber is smaller and thinner than the MT5602 that is used for the larger Black Bay models. The new caliber still offers a 70-hour power reserve and is COCS chronometer certified. This BB58 was NL delivered in 2019 and comes in a full set with all the accessories.

Tudor

In 1905, famous German businessman Hans Wilsdorf founded the watchbrand Rolex. In 1926 when Rolex introduced the first waterproof watch, Wilsdorf created a new brand, called Tudor. He assigned trader Veuve de Philippe Hüther to create the trademark Tudor in Geneve. His goal? To design an affordable watch that shared the same quality as Rolex. Rolex used high-quality in-housemovements. Tudor had his movements produced elsewhere and used ETA timepieces. This allowed Tudor to maintain its affordability.
