Tudor Prince Oysterdate 9050/0 (Blue No-Lume Dial)
If the Tudor Prince Oysterdate reference 9050/0 looks familiar to you, it's because this model draws a lot of inspiration from the iconic vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date model. In 1946, the Tudor Oyster watches were introduced as timepieces with a hand-wound movement. Most models featured a 34 mm stainless steel Oyster case and were available in various dial variations. In 1952, the Oyster Prince was introduced. Prince signified the presence of an automatic movement and was Tudor's counterpart to the Rolex Oyster Perpetual. The Tudor 9050/0 reference was primarily produced in the 1970s and 1980s.
The Tudor Prince Oysterdate 9050/0 is based on Rolex's most famous model, the Oyster Perpetual Date, and with its 34 mm case, it is perfect for enthusiasts with refined taste. The model was originally offered with a stainless steel Oyster bracelet or a leather strap of choice. When the Tudor brand was launched in 1946, the goal was for the watches to match Rolex in quality. To achieve this, Tudor watches were fitted with Rolex cases, crowns, and, until 1971, Rolex bracelets until the late 1990s.
This Tudor Prince Oysterdate 9050/0 dates back to 1977/1978 and is still in beautiful condition. The case and lugs appear unpolished. The watch features a smooth bezel, which gives it a sporty look. One of the details we are particularly excited about, and something we don't often see on Tudor Prince Oysterdate models is the matte blue no-lume dial, with matching solid hands. The blue dial adds an extra sporty touch to this Tudor 9050/0.
The reliable automatic ETA 2784 movement with a quick-set date function has been serviced. This stunning, elegant yet sporty 34 mm Tudor 9050/0 has the perfect size, making it suitable for both men and women. We have fitted the watch with a smooth, supple dark blue leather strap that perfectly complements the dial.

Tudor
Rolex was founded in 1905 by the famous German businessman Hans Wilsdorf. In 1926 Rolex introduced its first waterproof watch, the famous Oyster. In the same year founder Hans Wilsdorf had another goal: he wanted to create a watch brand that was more accessible for a larger number of people, with the same quality and reliability as Rolex. Wilsdorf assigned Geneva-based dealer Philippe Hüther to create the Tudor trademark. Rolex used high quality in-house movements. Tudor had its movements manufactured elsewhere and used ETA movements which allowed Tudor to maintain its affordability. A major part of why Tudor was able to be successful in its early years was that it was able to use Rolex's waterproof Oyster case, allowing buyers access to Rolex's legendary durability at a more affordable price point.
