Tudor Submariner 79090

The Submariner is one of Rolex's most recognisable models. Known by anyone from collectors to those who are only faintly interested in watches. Tudor has, like Rolex, created a number of variations of its Submariner. The 79090, introduced in the year 1989, is the last reference Tudor Submariner that was originally fitted with Plexiglas. This reference was in production until 1995.

This sporty vintage Tudor Submariner reference 79090 dates back to 1989. The tritium on the hands and dial is starting to show a nice, warm patina. Underneath the sharp and thick 40 mm case we find the reliable ETA-2824 calibre which has recently been fully serviced. The 78500 Oyster bracelet shows little to no stretch. This Tudor Submariner will be delivered with its original box, Tudor warranty papers, service papers, wallet, hangtag and 1 year 10 over 10 warranty.

What you need to know:
- Black matte tritium dial with light patina
- Sharp and thick 40 mm stainless steel case
- 297XXX dates back to 1989
- Comes with its Tudor box, Tudor guarantee papers, service papers, wallet and hangtag
- 1 year of mechanical warranty
- Free insured shipping

Tudor

Rolex was founded in 1905 by the famous German businessman Hans Wilsdorf. In 1926 Rolex introduced its first waterproof watch, the famous Oyster. In the same year founder Hans Wilsdorf had another goal: he wanted to create a watch brand that was more accessible for a larger number of people, with the same quality and reliability as Rolex. Wilsdorf assigned Geneva-based dealer Philippe Hüther to create the Tudor trademark. Rolex used high quality in-house movements. Tudor had its movements manufactured elsewhere and used ETA movements which allowed Tudor to maintain its affordability. A major part of why Tudor was able to be successful in its early years was that it was able to use Rolex's waterproof Oyster case, allowing buyers access to Rolex's legendary durability at a more affordable price point.
